Prior to starting her own law firm, Julie focused on representing private sector clients in zoning, permitting, and real estate transactions for a well known real estate firm in Newton. She previously served as Town Counsel for the Town of Marion, where she handled various matters for the Police Department and Board of Selectmen. Julie also spent seven years as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Newton, providing counsel to the City Council, boards, commissions, and departments.

Julie is a seasoned land use attorney and litigator with experience in both the public and private sectors. She specializes in zoning, permitting, development, and residential and commercial real estate transactions. Julie's 25-year career has also included extensive experience in criminal law. Most recently, at Schlesinger and Buchbinder, LLP, Julie focused her practice on zoning, permitting, and residential and commercial real estate transactions, representing private sector clients. While at Huggins and Witten, LLC, Julie served as Town Counsel for the Town of Marion, handling a variety of matters for the Police Department and the Board of Selectmen. Julie was an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Newton for seven years, serving as counsel to the City Council, as well as City boards, commissions, and departments.
As counsel for the Newton Zoning Board of Appeals, she led her clients through the review and approval process for numerous complex development projects, including 40B affordable housing projects. Julie was one of the first online child protection prosecutors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. At the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, she prosecuted child predators and white-collar criminals, while working to strengthen child protection laws through precedent-setting case law and legislation. Julie served an Assistant Attorney General for two Attorney Generals, and as an Assistant District Attorney for two District Attorneys. She was recognized for her service by Attorneys General Thomas Reilly and Martha Coakley, as well as the Massachusetts State Police. She has practiced before the Commonwealth's trial courts, appellate courts and administrative agencies.
